Donald Trump Is F**king The Elephant Corpse Of The GOP
We all see it happening.
Republicans should rebrand as “Trumpists” and the “Trump Party” because the GOP is dead and hanging lifeless from the gate to their proverbial Shining City on a Hill.
The Republican 2020 platform was almost literally “Whatever Trump wants.” That is a dead, rotten party filled with worms and whatever else creeps into caskets.
The January 6th attempt to force a coup, smear feces on the walls of the Capitol, and wreck the unbroken record of peaceful transfer of power to reinstall election loser Donald Trump as dictator was a strangling of the Party of Lincoln. They have no claim to that legacy. That’s a tattered American flag they’ve replaced with loyalty to Donald Trump’s deranged folk tale avarice and egomania blatantly inciting QAnon delusions, new civil war threats, and blood libel conspiracies.
The fascists aligned with Trump may have failed to find Mike Pence (even with allegedly possible Secret Service collusion) to hang on live, national television, but they’ve sure gotten away with hanging America’s political civility.
Here are some more miscellaneous thoughts about what an existentially disgraceful corpse the Republican Party has rotted into:
Conservatives should be renamed Preservatives for all the work they’re doing to preserve an American oligarchy. They aren’t interested in conserving water, air, the climate, democracy domestic nor abroad, America’s soft power, school children, women with dangerous unviable pregnancies, national security, ethical personal behavior, or even ideological consistency.
Reminder that Vladimir Putin and Russia do not want a Republican majority. Russia wants a weak, self-destructed America. The Republicans ignoring Russian meddling and idolizing Putin for short-term gain are historic, geopolitical traitors.
Republicans can convince themselves that literally anything is justified to “keep Democrats from ruining the country”… even ruining the country.
Republicans being the party of fiscal responsibility is the greatest myth in American history.
It’s amazing Republican donors don’t mind that the RNC is basically laundering their party donations straight into Donald Trump’s bank account via his legal fees, hotels, golf courses, Mar-a-Lago, and buying his and his kids’ dumbass ghost-written books.
Two Republican presidents in a row have inherited booming economies and wrecked them, inherited respected US statures and defiled them, and inherited falling deficits and ballooned them.
When Democrats and Republicans disagree on policy, it’s very easy to tell which of the two party’s positions was informed most by an army of bad faith lobbyists and corporate opportunists with pockets full of superPAC cash.
The alleged left wing bias in academia really just means that conservative ideology has no basis in fact, and fails to be bolstered with variable-isolating studies, cross-examination, deep reading, field experience, peer review, and critical thinking. Education turns you liberal, or convinces you to quit and leave because you want people to stop disagreeing with you and forcing you to grapple with a wider perspective than you have, and decide to live in an alternate reality where your hypotheses don’t ever have to be challenged, at least ever to your face.
Donald Trump promised his healthcare plan would cover everyone, be cheaper than Obamacare, and everyone would love it…. LOL. He said it over and over for years. It was a central campaign promise. He had how many “Infrastructure Weeks” in his first two years? His “Build the Wall” chant led ultimately to “Renovate Existing Fencing!” He’s a giant con man who has no competence, patience, or intention to actually fulfill promises. And he’s so narcissistic he just moves on mentally, calls it fake news he ever promised anything or failed to make it happen, and it doesn’t bother him in the least. Don’t idolize a sociopath.
Donald Trump has successfully munged the entire Republican Party.
When you look closely, the GOP ideology and made up “Culture War” has many political similarities with the social agenda of the Taliban.
Remember: no one benefits from political-correctness more than Republican politicians because it’s politically incorrect in the media to call them lying fucking brown-nosing idiots on live television to their faces.
Modern Republicans are NOT the “Party of Lincoln.” Alongside the strict refusal to expand slavery, the 1860s Republican platforms also called for economic policies that benefitted the industrial North East (the contemporary base of the Democratic Party) at the perceived expense of the South (the contemporary base of the GOP), the enactment of a robust homestead act coupled with liberal spending for domestic infrastructure and transcontinental railroad development, and freedom of immigration granted along with full rights for immigrants. Sounds contemporarily liberal, doesn’t it?
Mitch McConnell has politically embezzled an unconstitutional and undemocratic amount of Congressional power with shrewd, hyper-partisan abandon, and he uses it for evil.
There may be no absurdity in American politics capable of competing with the fact that Paul Ryan says his favorite musical group is Rage Against The Machine.
The GOP is the party of choice for sex offenders, involuntary celibates, racists, wealthfare queens, homophobes, religious fundamentalists, warmongers, science deniers, gun nuts, and social Darwinists. Not all Republicans are these demographics, of course, but all these demographics are Republican. That says something pretty important for your voting decisions.
Don’t vote Republican.
