To put it bluntly, we Republicans failed to protect democracy, defend the Constitution, and tell the truth about the results of a fair and honestly decided election in 2020.
As a result, it is abundantly clear that Democrats are the only functioning, adult, professional, serious, and responsible political party in America, and Joe Biden must win reelection. And Democrats fully deserve to win substantial majorities in both the House and Senate.
We Republicans have proven ourselves incapable of contributing to the national sanity, and cannot even keep the House of Representatives open with majority power. We have unfortunately turned even too radical and incompetent to even govern ourselves, let alone the entire country.
The Faustian bargains we Republicans have made since the 2010 Tea Party movement’s leveraging of racism and other-ing of Barack Obama in order to obtain governmental power in order to pass extreme tax cuts for the mega rich have backfired, and this mob mentality of politics has morphed into the MAGA movement and House Freedom Caucus which is currently using a micro-minority of House Republicans to legislatively suicide bomb attack our Congress and keep the House unprecedentedly Speaker-less.
Like all Faustian bargains, we Republicans have been hoisted by our own petard as our Frankenstein-ish monstrosity of a House Republican caucus inspired by Donald Trump’s unleashed, psychologically deranged id bested our political abilities to wrangle our radical factional insanities, ended even the most moderate Republican Congress member’s enthusiasm for public service, and ultimately left us soulless. The radical anarchy has gotten out of hand, and we Republicans have a civic duty to remind ourselves how narrowly we avoided perpetrating a mass murder in the halls of Congress on January 6th and even a public hanging of Mike Pence at a gallows noose altar of insurrectionist tyranny.
Like all conservative coalitions expecting to control a racist demagogue before us throughout history, we too lost control of our electorally useful deplorable, and we Republicans have emasculated ourselves maintaining the illusion of normalcy while that wannabe dictator mangled and dismantled an alarming number of nonpartisan safeguards of governmental professionalism and normalcy standing in his way of despotic and narcissistic intentions.
All those times we Congressional Republicans said we hadn’t heard Trump’s base appeals to Americans’ worst instincts, or we said we hadn’t read his offensive tweets, we were lying. We knew all too well the damage he was doing to America’s society and culture, yet we were cowards passively following along his blind march of ethno-nationalism masquerading as faux-populism and clinging to his coattails of grassroots fascism.
The GOP has remained silent when we could have, and should have, said something or done something. We abandoned our responsibility to reign in the political monster we unleashed. We have forever disgraced ourselves, the Republican Party, and America.
But no more. From now on, we Republicans must fully own up to our abject spinelessness, as well as our ethical, masculine, and historical timidity. We accept fully the blame for enabling Donald Trump’s worst impulses, his Constitutional subterfuge, and our current political psychopathy. We understand we deserve to go down in the annals of House of Representatives history as a pathetic, pitiful doormat for demagogery.
It is much too late to prevent Trump from ever becoming president, but we hope to prevent him from obtaining ever again another governmental office. So we fully endorse the Democratic Party at every level, and pledge to vote Democrats into every national, state, and local office on our ballots. We Republicans may never recover our souls from our Faustian bargain of enabling Donald Trump, but we hope to reclaim a sliver of our hearts, which quiver with despair every time we look into our children and grandchildren’s eyes and see the free democracy they should inherit being assaulted by MAGA anarchism.
So please vote for Democrats. Trumpism is a cancer upon our nation, and there will be no America left if he is allowed to continue degrading, destroying, and abandoning democracy like he has degraded, destroyed, and abandoned everything else in his life, from his marriages, to his casinos, to all his personal relationships.
So we repeat one last time that Democrats are our only hope. The Republican Party we have loved our entire lives can no longer be trusted with any quantity of authority or responsibility, no matter how small and insignificant. We have utterly failed democracy’s demagogue test, and Donald Trump remains capable and obviously willing to actively incite a new civil war.
We’ll be spending our free time, money, and energy working to ensure the GOP loses the next election by as wide a margin as possible to unambiguously tell all the fascists, racists, and militantly ignorant morons in our beloved Republican Party that we will not allow them to end our democracy, and we will no longer sit idly by as they hijack our political party for their fascist ends.
We owe such determination to the American people in apology for helping push America as close to the precipice of fascism as America has ever been!
Thanks for your eyeballs!
